Canadians Shock Trump

While the U.S. President was preparing for a victory by his favored Conservative Party in Canada’s parliamentary elections, he now faces a heavy and unexpected defeat in this significant political arena.
To put it more clearly, Trump’s predictions of a certain defeat for the Liberals in the Canadian elections—driven by Canadian citizens’ fear of his tariff policies—have been officially challenged. It appears that Marco Rubio (Trump’s Secretary of State) and Mike Waltz, his recently resigned National Security Advisor, both played significant roles in instilling this belief in Trump!
Mark Carney, Canada’s current Prime Minister, announced the Liberal Party’s victory in the country’s parliamentary elections and vowed to prevail in Donald Trump’s tariff war against Canada.
In his victory speech to supporters, Canada’s Prime Minister stated that Canada will never forget the lessons it learned from America’s “betrayal.” Carney spoke of the end of his country’s “old relationship” with the U.S. and asserted: “Trump is trying to break us to own us. That will never happen.”
The leader of Canada’s Liberal Party, emphasizing the unity of all Canadians, said that ongoing tensions with the U.S. have created challenges. Carney further called on his country’s people to unite for “the tough months ahead that will require sacrifice.”
In other words, Mark Carney has openly declared to Trump that not only will he not succumb to Washington’s tariff policies, but, citing the results of the recent general election and the increased resilience of Canadian citizens, he will challenge Washington’s overarching and threat-based policies in bilateral relations.
What transpired in Canada’s general election can, in fact, be considered a form of referendum. Vote counting in Canada is still ongoing, but with the Liberal Party in the lead, it is poised to form the government for a fourth consecutive term. The outcome of Canada’s general election and the Liberal Party’s victory are attributed to the party’s strong and furious reaction to Trump’s demands.
At long queues outside polling stations, voters emphasized the importance of this election round, describing it as a historic and decisive moment for the future of this 41-million-strong nation.
Pierre Poilievre, the leader of Canada’s Conservative Party and Carney’s main rival, also spoke after the announcement of the general election results, stating that he would work with his country’s new government to hold the U.S. accountable! However, it is clear to all that Poilievre’s victory was Donald Trump’s primary desire! Nevertheless, Poilievre, accepting his party’s defeat in the election, promised to prioritize his country’s interests over partisan disputes to counter the “threats” posed by the U.S. President.
