Israeli army chief of staff: We have paid a heavy price in the Gaza war

According to Al Jazeera, Eyal Zamir, the Israeli army chief of staff, in recent remarks, acknowledged the complexities of the ongoing war in Gaza and the multi-front nature of the conflicts, admitting that the army faces significant challenges.
He said: “We are dealing with a hybrid, multi-front war, and there are many challenges ahead of us. The war has taken the lives of many of our soldiers, and we have paid a heavy price. The army is far from the disputes in Israel, and we have shared goals.”
He claimed: “If necessary, we will expand the scope of military operations in Gaza.”
He identified one of the regime’s biggest current challenges as securing the return of hostages from the Gaza Strip, while claiming: “Our other goal is to destroy Hamas and ensure the security of the areas surrounding Gaza.”
