Judiciary denies claims regarding the death of a young man in Aligudarz / The individual had no judicial record
Yesterday, reports emerged about the death of a young man from Aligudarz County in Lorestan Province, identified as Omid. His body was found inside his personal vehicle, with a firearm in his hand and a gunshot wound to his head.
Following the publication of this news, several opposition-affiliated media outlets and social media pages republished content from Omid’s personal social media account, falsely claiming that he had been prosecuted for critical posts and had been mysteriously killed.
However, investigations by Mizan News Agency with the Lorestan Provincial Prosecutor’s Office reveal that this individual had no judicial record and was never pursued or investigated by the judiciary over the content shared on his personal social media account.
Ali Hasanvand, the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Lorestan Province, stated regarding the young man’s death and the judicial actions taken:
“Upon receiving the initial report indicating that a young man had committed suicide using a firearm, law enforcement and judicial officials immediately attended the scene and launched a preliminary investigation.”
The provincial prosecutor emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into all aspects of the incident, noting: “A judicial case has been opened to examine the causes and contributing factors of this incident, and relevant experts are collecting evidence and conducting specialized inquiries.”
Referring to the rumors circulating online about the alleged existence of a judicial case against the deceased, Hasanvand confirmed: “No case of any kind was ever filed for the deceased in the judicial offices of Lorestan Province.”
The Prosecutor General of Lorestan further warned: “The publication of unverified news and unfounded speculation in cyberspace not only disturbs public opinion but may also carry legal consequences for those who disseminate it.”
He concluded by stressing: “The judiciary is pursuing the matter seriously, and the results of the investigation will be announced to the public once the inquiry is complete.”
