Drug lab discovered in home of Israeli official
Israeli police arrested the chief of staff of May Golan, Minister of Social Equality, and her former adviser in connection with a financial corruption case.
During the search of this official’s residence, police uncovered a fully equipped laboratory used for the production and trafficking of drugs—an issue that, according to Hebrew media sources, has sent shockwaves through Israel’s political and security circles.
The investigation was launched following a report by Channel 12 Hebrew TV, which claimed that Golan had exploited state resources for her personal and political interests.
Amid these developments, police also detained several other suspects, including a lawyer close to Golan and the director of an association linked to Itamar Ben-Gvir, the far-right Minister of National Security, and are interrogating them.
According to judicial sources, last month the cabinet’s legal adviser and the Attorney General of the Zionist regime ordered the launch of investigations into multiple charges against Golan, including bribery, fraud, breach of trust, and providing false statements. However, due to her parliamentary immunity, the minister herself has not yet been interrogated.
Political analysts have warned that, given Golan’s position within the cabinet structure, this case could have far-reaching political consequences and pose a serious challenge to the stability of the cabinet.
