Iran condemns UK’s unlawful sanctions
The statement read: “The UK government, relying on unfounded pretexts and baseless accusations, has imposed these sanctions. Such actions are in clear contradiction with the principles of international law regarding friendly relations and cooperation among states, as outlined in the UN Charter. They only harm bilateral relations and deepen mistrust.”
The statement further emphasized: “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always stressed dialogue and mutual respect in international relations. Iran has never planned, supported, or carried out any act that could be considered a threat to the UK’s domestic security. The allegations made in this regard are entirely baseless and unacceptable.”
The Embassy went on to highlight: “What truly threatens regional and global peace and security are the aggressive actions and crimes of the Israeli Zionist regime—a regime that, by committing numerous international crimes including aggression, genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, has crossed every red line and stands as the primary source of instability in the region. It is astonishing that Western countries continue to ignore the outcry of the international community against this child-killing regime and fail to take any meaningful action to halt its atrocities.”
In conclusion, the statement reaffirmed: “The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran once again reiterates our country’s commitment to the principles of mutual respect, non-interference in the internal affairs of other states, and constructive cooperation at bilateral, regional, and international levels. We call on the British government to refrain from persisting in its hostile policies and unlawful, destructive actions.”
Earlier, in continuation of its unconstructive stance against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the UK Foreign Office announced that it had added several Iranian trading and petrochemical companies to its sanctions list.
