On the second anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, Israel’s Ministry of War announced that its total casualties have reached 1,152.

In a statement issued Monday morning to mark the anniversary of the October 7, 2023 operation — which was followed by the war Israel calls Operation Iron Swords — the ministry released updated figures of its dead.

According to the Hebrew-language website Ynet, citing the Ministry of War, since October 7, 2023, a total of 1,152 Israeli soldiers have been killed. Of these, about 42 percent (487 soldiers) were under the age of 21, while 141 were over the age of 40.

The statements, released by the Department of Families, Memorials, and Heritage at the Ministry of War, include the number of casualties among the Israeli army and police, the Shin Bet, security forces, and readiness teams who were killed in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and northern and southern occupied territories.

Over the past year alone, an additional 262 soldiers were added to the military’s death toll, most of them young, unmarried conscripts. Among them were 43 members of readiness teams, 100 police officers, 9 Shin Bet operatives, and 8 personnel from Israel’s Prison Service.
