Israel fears global media access to Gaza after ceasefire
In a report published by the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth, journalist Itamar Eichner wrote:
“In the coming days, we will see a wave of documentary films from Gaza’s ruins that will dominate international media for a long time.”
According to the paper, international media outlets — granted access to Gaza after more than two years of prohibition — will be warmly welcomed by its residents, who will share their painful stories along with images reminiscent of Hiroshima’s destruction by the U.S. atomic bomb in 1945.
However, Eichner noted a key difference: unlike Hiroshima, the images emerging from Gaza will not remain buried in archives.
“In today’s age of social media, these images will spread powerfully across digital platforms, triggering an unprecedented global shock.”
